An independent socio-economic impact assessment with Dun & Bradstreet says Alstom’s MELPL e-loco project backed a total ₹60,000 crore economic output across India in FY2020–26, including ₹23,800 crore GVA. In Bihar, the Madhepura plant delivered a GST equivalent to 1% of state collections in FY24 and 4.6% of district GDDP, shifting the area toward an industrial hub and creating social change.
