IAI completes first flight of Airbus A330-200 converted cargo aircraft

Israel Aerospace Industries completed the first successful flight of an Airbus A330-200 converted into a cargo aircraft, starting its certification process toward customer delivery and entry into service. The conversion, the first by IAI on an Airbus type, offers up to 30 cargo containers and a 61-ton payload, using a forward main-deck door for faster loading. The program extends IAI’s existing Boeing 777 conversion work and repurposes aircraft retired from passenger service.
