Hyundai Wia to deploy fully autonomous forklift at Kia plant in 2027

Hyundai Wia developed an autonomous forklift that can load cargo entirely on its own, with lidar mapping, vision sensors to locate each pallet, and safety scanners that stop it immediately for obstacles. Using digital twin route planning, it accounts for pallet and ground shifts and adjusts posture for ramps. It will begin logistics at Kia’s AutoLand Hwaseong complex in May 2027.
