Hyundai Unveils Battery Cells to Cut Charging Times for EREVs and New EVs

Hyundai used its 2026 CEO Investor Day in Seoul to outline new electrified plans, including the Santa Fe EREV arriving in the first half of 2027 and built in the United States with nearly 1,000 km of range, plus a Genesis EREV SUV launching early next year. The company targets electrified vehicles to reach 60% of global sales by 2030, and in Europe aims for 85% electrified coverage and over 420,000 EVs, while new EV production at its Ulsan plant begins with the Genesis GV90 and five new EVs are set for Europe.
