Hyundai will begin delivering electric Ioniq 5 SUVs to Waymo for robotaxi service starting in Q4. The vehicles will be built at Hyundai Motor Group’s Metaplant America plant in Georgia using a local supply chain, and Hyundai will leverage Motional’s robotaxi-ready platform plans for fully driverless deployment later this year. A 2024 pact integrates Waymo’s autonomous stack into the SUV.
