Hyundai Moves Into Robotics After Buying Boston Dynamics Remaining Shares
Hyundai Motor is positioning itself as a physical AI and technology company by taking full control of Boston Dynamics after acquiring SoftBank’s remaining shares. Hyundai’s Robot Metaplant Application Center simulates factory conditions and tests manufacturing robots in Savannah, Georgia. Automotive, about 80% of revenue, will fund robotics and autonomous vehicle efforts, including U.S. production of humanoids from 2028 at 30,000 units annually.
