HSBC to Wind Down Germany Transaction Services, Phasing Out 320 Roles by 2028
HSBC is winding down its Germany transaction services business, planning to phase out about 320 roles by 2028 across two entities. The move follows earlier Germany exits, with $1.7 billion in annualized savings booked by H1 2026 and $1.4 billion in restructuring costs. The bank is simultaneously funding global wholesale transaction banking and expanding Asian wealth and China brokerage operations.
