Honda Develops Dexterous Robotic Hand to Restart Robotics After ASIMO
Honda Motor has built a robotic hand with fine, multi-finger dexterity, reviving its robotics push after retiring the ASIMO humanoid in 2022. The system can grip and maneuver tiny parts and lift up to 5 kg, using tactile sensing for assembly. Commercialization is planned for the early 2030s to automate factory work amid labor shortages, though safety concerns remain.
