Hindalco commissioned India’s first Superfine PPT ATH plant with annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes to expand its specialty alumina for fire-safety uses. The halogen-free flame-retardant material helps suppress flame spread and smoke in HFFR cables and other insulation applications. The move aligns with BIS IS 17048:2018 for safer infrastructure and supports domestic self-reliance.
