A union representing 5,379 of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ 8,127 members voted 66.19% in favor of strike action, clearing the legal threshold. The union will discuss in a Central Dispute Countermeasures Committee meeting on August 28 whether to launch a strike. It is seeking higher base pay, a larger bonus, and changes to profit sharing and benefits, while the company says it will negotiate more often starting next week.
