Hawaiian Electric contracts for six GE Vernova turbines in 250 MW repowering
Hawaiian Electric selected GE Vernova to supply six LM6000VELOX aeroderivative package units for a 250 MW repowering at its Waiau Power Plant in Pearl City, O’ahu. The project will replace old oil-fired steam turbines to modernize generation capacity and provide operational flexibility for the grid serving about 1.4 million residents across five major islands.
