Hanwha Faces $1B LNG Damages Claim as Austal U.S. Unit Sale Looms

Arctic LNG 2 is seeking about $1 billion in damages from Hanwha Ocean over cancelled tanker construction contracts, according to Hanwha’s disclosure. Separately, Austal said Hanwha Group has offered to buy its U.S. operations for up to $1.20 billion, likely avoiding Canberra approval. The U.S. is also moving toward polysilicon price floors and tariffs.
