HAL Samtel Inaugurate India’s First Public-Private Defence Avionics Facility

Samtel HAL Display Systems Limited (SHDS), the HAL–Samtel Avionics joint venture, inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Gurugram to advance indigenisation in India’s defence avionics sector. The JV cites two decades of collaboration, with its MFD flying on the Su-30 MKI and selection for HAL’s ALH programme, and expects turnover to rise from about ₹200 crore potentially to ₹400–₹500 crore within 3–4 years, under MoD licence and defence quality approvals.
