Hindustan Aeronautics and Safran Helicopter Engines have signed a final contract, via their joint venture SAFHAL Helicopter Engines Pvt Ltd, to co-develop, manufacture and support the new-generation Aravalli helicopter engine in the 3,500–4,000 shp class. HAL says it is a major step toward aero-engine self-reliance, extending the partnership and supporting indigenous MRO capabilities.
