An agreement was signed in Guangzhou between Guangdong province and Alibaba to increase investments in computing power, AI models, and digital services. Provincial party secretary Huang Kunming praised Alibaba’s support for Guangdong’s economic and social development and urged faster technology innovation and R&D, citing potential synergies with energy and telecom firms, plus AI deployment across consumer electronics, manufacturing equipment, and healthcare.
