Google Warns Europe Search Updates Could Lower Service Quality

Google said revamping Europe search results to comply with the EU Digital Markets Act would cause the biggest quality drop in 29 years. The company warned the changes could favor price comparison vertical services and cut direct booking traffic, citing a 30% fall after earlier DMA edits. The Commission allowed 60 days to comply or face periodic penalties up to 5% turnover, after recent €430m and €460m fines.
