Google Updates EU Search-Spam Enforcement to Address Competition Concerns
Alphabet is changing how Google enforces its search-spam policy across the EU and EEA, aiming to address European Commission competition concerns tied to how publishers using third-party commercial content are ranked. From Aug. 30, manual ranking penalties tied to its site reputation abuse policy will stop for users in the EEA, and affected site sections can rank independently.
