Google’s AI Overviews repeated a meme-like claim that Flock license-plate cameras contain up to about $650 in gold and 23 pounds of copper. The estimate relied on misleading text matches and conflicted with the camera’s roughly three-pound weight and trace-level precious metal content. By Aug. 6, the Overview reversed the copper and gold claims, citing hallucinations and rumors rather than facts.
