Goodyear Raises $2.3B From Asset Sales to Cut Debt as Leverage Rises
Goodyear raised about $2.3 billion in 2025 by selling its off-the-road tire unit, the Dunlop brand and its chemical business to reduce debt. Total debt was $7.782 billion at end-2024. The program brought $535–$565 million of pre-tax charges and pushed segment operating income to $36 million, a 0.8% margin, while Asia Pacific earned a 12.7% margin; leverage is expected to reach 2.0–2.5x by Q4 2025.
