General Motors has entered a $4.5bn irrevocable payment undertaking programme to protect its parts supply chain from disruptions such as severe weather and cyberattacks. Procura Auto Parts will act as paying agent, forwarding funds to suppliers to buy and store inventory until needed for production, backed by GM-issued IPUs.
