GM Escalade and other models face renewed scrutiny over engine failures

GM’s 2025 recall covering more than 600,000 vehicles for an engine problem has not stopped failures, with nearly 7,000 complaints tied to vehicles after recall work. NHTSA has logged 499 complaints and 191 reports for the same L87 engine not covered. A safety investigation across key model years may raise warranty, dealer, regulatory and reputational pressure.
