GM Deal Approved by Canadian Workers Adds Truck to Oshawa Plant
Canadian union Unifor says GM offered to spend C$144 million to add the next-generation heavy-duty GMC Sierra truck at its Oshawa plant and pledged not to immediately sell or close a second Ontario assembly site in Ingersoll. GM also committed over C$1 billion in Canadian investment, including a C$691 million engines program, alongside a 3% annual wage increase for three years.
