GlobalFoundries officially opened a US$4 billion expansion fab in Singapore, adding 23,000 sqm of cleanroom space and targeting production of 450,000 additional 300mm wafers annually. The plant is expected to create 1,000 high-value jobs, with 95% in technical roles, and to strengthen the company’s manufacturing flexibility and product security for customers across three continents.
