FSSAI accused Diageo subsidiary United Spirits Limited of misleadingly claiming that its best-selling whisky is matured in American oak casks. The regulator said the label conflicts with the product composition, which includes grain neutral spirit after demineralised water and largely non-matured spirit. It also demanded clarification about the Scotch used. United Spirits said it expects no financial impact and is monitoring developments.
