Ferrari Luce all-electric car sells for $40m record in charity auction
Ferrari’s first all-electric car, the Luce, sold for $40m (£29.5m) at RM Sotheby’s charity sale in California, a record for a new vehicle at auction. The custom production chassis features a unique finish and bespoke parts, and all proceeds go to Ferrari Foundation educational programmes. The launch faced criticism over its battery-powered, five-seat design, but Ferrari says it expects its sales target to be met, with strong demand from China.
