FedEx has filed county permits for the Hercules project: a new five-story, 1.6 million-square-foot automated small-package sorting facility at the Memphis airport. The site will connect by elevated bridge to the recently completed Secondary 25 sorting center, expanding e-commerce sorting capacity as part of FedEx’s modernization plans and incorporating a state-of-the-art automated sort system referenced in a January letter of intent.
