FedEx expands Network 2.0 with US facility closures and layoffs
FedEx’s Network 2.0 consolidation has led to about 3,152 layoffs across the United States as of August, alongside plans to target 475 facility closures while integrating Ground and Express operations. The changes aim to eliminate overlapping routes, simplify delivery, and reduce costs without significantly affecting transit times. Rollout is under way at about 390 locations in the US and Canada as of Feb. 28, 2026, continuing through 2027.
