Federal antitrust jury set to decide Live Nation’s monopoly claims
A federal jury is set to deliberate on whether Live Nation used its size to unlawfully monopolize the live music industry. The DOJ settled early, leaving 33 states and the District of Columbia to pursue divestiture of Ticketmaster. States’ counsel argued the evidence was misleading and “gerrymandered,” while venue testimony alleged CEO Michael Rapino threatened to divert shows if rivals gained access; Rapino denied the claims.
