EyePoint’s Durayvu missed the primary goal in its LUGANO trial for wet age-related macular degeneration, failing to prove non-inferiority to aflibercept. In roughly 400 participants treated with inside-the-eye injections, more than a year of data showed the average best-corrected visual acuity did not meet the target. EyePoint attributed much of the shortfall to an uneven set of nine patients with vision loss unrelated to wet AMD.
