Exxon and LyondellBasell consider bids for Shell US chemicals assets
Exxon Mobil and LyondellBasell are among potential bidders for Shell’s US chemicals portfolio, which could sell for up to $8 billion. Private equity and the Kuwait Group also expressed interest as Shell weighs options. Non-binding proposals were submitted, covering four facilities in Louisiana, Texas and Pennsylvania, including the Monaca complex producing up to 1.6 million tonnes of polymers a year.
