Equinor Starts Operations at 100MW Citrus Flatts Battery in Texas

Equinor has started operations at its Citrus Flatts 100MW/200MWh battery storage project in Harlingen, Texas, the largest US storage development to date. The facility was completed by Equinor-owned East Point Energy and now operates on a merchant basis in ERCOT, helping power about 30,000 households for up to two hours. Equinor is also building four more battery projects in Virginia’s PJM, targeting early 2027.
