Entergy Pauses Cottonwood Deal Proceedings Amid Growing Cost Concerns
Entergy Louisiana has indefinitely postponed a judge’s proceedings on its plan to buy the Cottonwood power plant for $1.8 billion, citing complex, fact-intensive issues and requests from Public Service Commission staff. Entergy said it is developing a revised approach to lessen costs to residents, after PSC scrutiny tied the deal to energy demand driven by Meta’s north Louisiana data center.
