Eni denied reports that it requested a 20% increase in natural gas volumes from Libya to Italy, saying the letter cited in social media and media reports is falsified. The company said it sent no request to Mellitah or other Libyan entities, that the named manager is not employed by Eni, and that export figures in the document were wrong. Fawasel Media later withdrew the news.
