Enel Seeks Annulment of Sao Paulo Concession Revocation Proceeding
Enel asked Brazil’s electricity regulator Aneel to annul the proceeding that could lead to revoking its Sao Paulo distribution concession, arguing Aneel did not conduct a structured analysis of consumer impacts. Aneel previously cited structural shortcomings after prolonged outages in 2023-2025 affecting millions. Enel says it met the two service-quality indicators and renewed a request for independent technical review; Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy will decide whether to follow Aneel’s recommendation.
