Enbridge is temporarily halting work on its Line 5 oil and gas pipeline reroute after a gas leak in Iron County. The company estimates about 31,000 barrels (1.3 million gallons) of natural gas liquids vaporized after a subcontractor’s unoccupied truck rolled into an excavation site and hit the pipeline. Line 5 remains shut down, a half-mile evacuation and no-fly zone stay in place, and work is ongoing on the $1 billion reroute.
