Enbridge Flags Mainline Expansion Demand as U.S.-Canada Export Capacity Rises

Between 200,000 and 400,000 bpd of Canadian crude is currently re-exported off the U.S. Gulf Coast, and Enbridge says forecasts assume this will grow. The company is gauging demand for a second Mainline expansion phase that could be in service in 2028 with another 250,000 bpd of capacity. Enbridge also points to approved Mainline and Flanagan South U.S. upgrades adding 250,000 bpd, potentially lifting exports to the U.S. by more than 12%.
