EEOC finds Cisco likely violated rights of Middle Eastern and Muslim staff

The US EEOC found there is reasonable cause to believe Cisco subjected a class of employees to a hostile work environment based on Middle Eastern national origin and Muslim religion, in violation of Title VII. Complaints said racist and Islamophobic messages appeared on a Cisco internal communications platform after the 7 October 2023 attacks, escalating after 1,700 employees signed a public letter. Cisco disputed the finding but said it removed some comments.
