Duke Energy filed its 2026 Carolinas Resource Plan with South Carolina regulators, recommending additions over the next 15 years including 18.5 GW of solar, 14 GW of gas generation and 13 GW of energy storage. The utility forecasts winter peak growth of over 10 GW (~30% cumulative). Duke also seeks to extend existing nuclear operating licenses up to 80 years, noting renewed licenses for two South Carolina sites.
