Duke Energy to Issue $10B Equity to Support Gas Generation Growth
More than 5 GW of data centers are under construction in Duke Energy’s six-state territory and it has signed 7.8 GW of service agreements. The company is executing what it calls the industry’s largest regulated capital plan, spending over $1B per month, including new 7.5 GW gas plants with 4.5 GW batteries, plus 300 MW nuclear upgrades, and reviewing a possible sale of its Cayuga coal plant amid NC base-rate criticism.
