Duke Energy Reports 3,200-Gallon Sodium Bisulfite Spill at Anclote River Plant
A Duke Energy plant technician found an estimated 3,200 gallons of sodium bisulfite spilled outside the Holiday facility onto surrounding soil and asphalt. State regulators confirmed no impacts to nearby waters. Duke’s consultant reported the incident, and the company cited monitoring that showed no sodium increases to groundwater. Cleanup was nearly complete.
