Duke Energy Florida Launches Second Battery Facility for Customer Backup Power

Duke Energy Florida launched its second large-scale battery facility in Trenton, upgraded this summer to provide backup power for about 1,500 customers for up to four hours. The battery-based microgrid helps reduce long-duration outages and supports reliability and critical services. More than 82% of customers use self-healing technology that reroutes power to limit outage minutes.
