Dominion secures option for land tied to proposed offshore wind project
As its Coastal Virginia offshore wind project nears completion, Dominion is setting up a proposed North Carolina wind farm that would use 32 acres of Virginia Beach land. In June, the Virginia Beach Development Authority approved a five-year option for Dominion to buy the parcel at Corporate Landing Business Park. CVOW South is projected at 800 MW, serving 200,000 homes at peak, with costs estimated at $4.5B after a $160M lease purchase and $200M invested so far, while its $11.5B Virginia project delivered first power in late March.
