DHS to Pay Thomson Reuters $125M for ICE Access to Private Data

The Department of Homeland Security plans to pay Thomson Reuters $125 million to give ICE access to databases containing names, addresses, Social Security numbers, ethnicity, social media posts, and geolocation data. ICE has bought data from Thomson Reuters since 2008, and DHS aims to expand access via Special Services products including CLEAR. A procurement document says Thomson Reuters is the only contractor for continuous monitoring and alerts, but it does not clarify use in voter-fraud investigations.
