Caterpillar says large-engine capacity additions are running 2 to 3 months ahead of plan, while turbine additions track on schedule. The company repurposed its Wamego facility for Solar Turbines packaging within 12 months and resumed production of a 10-megawatt medium-speed engine for power generation. Caterpillar is also considering expanding locomotive-engine capacity for large Cat engines, guided by long-term customer discussions.
