Customers question summer bill spikes; Montana PSC investigates NorthWestern Energy
Hundreds of NorthWestern Energy customers are concerned about a sudden summer spike in their power bills, with some reporting amounts that tripled or even quadrupled. After customers contacted the company and requested meter checks, others filed complaints with the Montana Public Service Commission. The PSC is seeking input and says staff are working with NorthWestern Energy to investigate the causes, including higher usage and energy costs, and noting rates rose slightly in July.
