Cumberland County Nears Settlement With Chemours Over PFAS
Cumberland County commissioners are scheduled to revisit their PFAS case against Chemours and DuPont Tuesday and said a financial settlement is close, though terms are confidential. A planned 16-to-20 day trial was canceled. Contaminants were found in Gray’s Creek drinking-water wells, and a federal judge later ruled Chemours trespassed against 180,000 downstream residents using Cape Fear River and Fayetteville Works wells.
