Countertop Maker Sues Zurich Units Over Refusal to Defend Injury Claims

A countertop manufacturer sued Zurich American Insurance Co. and affiliates, alleging they refused to defend it in 130 bodily injury lawsuits. The complaint says policies bought by GSQ’s parent since 2007 required insurers to defend and pay claims during covered periods. The underlying suits claim injuries in California from exposure to components used in its countertops, according to an Aug. 15 federal filing.
