Corvus Energy and BYD Energy Storage have introduced the Blue Whale NxtGen Power, a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) energy storage system for electric vessels requiring higher power. BYD supplies battery cell technology and cell stack manufacturing, while Corvus designs the overall marine system, safety features, BMS, cybersecurity, digital battery passport, class approval, and provides testing and lifetime service support. Built on Corvus’s NxtGen platform, it targets tugs, workboats, offshore vessels and large ferries.
