Continental Study Finds Keeping Tire Pressure Cuts Fleet Fuel Use

A Continental study covering 4,000 trips on 10 trucks and trailers found that keeping tires within recommended pressure improved fuel economy by about 4.5%. Continental estimates this could translate to around $1,718 in annual fuel savings per vehicle and about $859,000 for a 500-vehicle fleet. The company promotes ContiConnect tire monitoring to help fleets catch pressure loss between inspections.
