Commissioning has started on Energiepark Bad Lauchstädt’s 30MW green hydrogen plant near Leipzig, Germany, ahead of deliveries to TotalEnergies’ Leuna refinery complex. The project targets up to 4,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually, with most volumes shipped via a converted 25km pipeline. Developed with Uniper, Terawatt, VNG, Ontras and DBI, it reached a €210m final investment decision in 2023 and was certified RFNBO-compliant earlier this month; no fixed commercial start date has been confirmed.
